TAMPA, FL – Long time Montreal Expo and Los Angeles Dodger Gilberto Reyes comes on board to manage the PTI summer team in 2019.
He will manage the Summer College Showcase team and is eager to shed his knowledge onto the PTI players.
Reyes was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 15, 1980 and spent four seasons in the Dodgers farm system before making his major league debut in 1983 at 19 years old. He alternated between AAA and the Majors for most of the next five seasons before the Dodgers traded him to the Montreal Expos in March of 1989. After two seasons with the Expos, he bounced around the minor leagues for several more seasons before retiring after the 1999 season. His nickname as a player was “Onionhead.”
Reyes was the youngest player in the National League in 1983.
Pro Talent Instructs welcomes Reyes to the already talented coaching staff and will look to help our young ball players improve in every aspect of the game.
